SEMYO is pleased to announce the launch of Prelude Winds starting in September of 2022! Prelude Winds is a fun, educational ensemble for young musicians who play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument. Participants will learn proper instrument technique, how to play together as an ensemble, and how to follow a conductor.
In addition to playing a wind and percussion ensemble, participants will have opportunities to perform in an orchestral setting with SEMYO string players.
Prelude Winds is open to youth who are starting grades 5-8 in the fall with 1-2 years’ experience on any band instrument. A simple audition is required that will include one scale and a musical excerpt. Visit our audition page for instructions on how to submit an audition.
