SEMYO Fall 2020 Program

SEMYO is offering in-person instruction for the fall 2020 trimester. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with state guidelines, the scope of SEMYO will be reduced to instrumental ensembles of less than 15 students. We are committed to keeping our students safe with a structured COVID-19 protection plan that includes social distancing, required face masks (including specialized masks for woodwind and brass players), staggered start times, reduced group sizes, and a mix of indoor and outdoor rehearsals.

Our goal is to continue to meet the SEMYO mission while offering students a structured activity and much needed human interaction. The hope is that a group activity with COVID-19 preventative measures in place will provide an alternative to less formal social and athletic youth gatherings occurring in the community.

If you are not currently a member of SEMYO we are still accepting a limited number of students. Visit our audition page to get started.

SEMYO rehearsals will take place between 9 a.m. and Noon on Saturday mornings. Students will be assigned to an ensemble that will meet for 45-60 minutes at either Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or at Century High School. SEMYO rehearsals start on September 12.

SEMYO also plans to offer a handful of online enrichment activities throughout the year.
