Annual SEMYO Concerto Competition

The Concerto Competition is meant to provide our students with an opportunity to prepare a challenging piece, perform that piece for judges, and receive constructive feedback on their performance. The students who win the competition have the rare opportunity to play as a soloist with their orchestra.

The Concerto Competition allows SEMYO to showcase some of our most outstanding musicians. The spring concert highlights our concerto winners and is always our most highly attended concert. Students that prepare a concerto and compete may have an opportunity to perform in the annual Concerto Recital.

The Piano Concerto Competition

The Piano Concerto Competition is meant to provide highschool piano students from Southeastern Minnesota an opportunity to prepare a challenging piece, perform that piece for judges, and receive constructive feedback on their performances. The students who win the competition have the rare opportunity to play as a soloist with the orchestra.
